Man...I just felt like we were back on the square of my home-village Bierbeek in Belgium.

Park Ave. South Break Up
That's how I feel about leaving our Park Ave South (at 27th) location. Yes. It's been great and we absolutely love the Park Ave. South people. They've been there with us when our old truck was dying, when we had to town it there with my car (5 blocks towing was worth the risk of getting caught by the cops). They were there when we thought we'd never be able to get into the Midtown street vending zoo. They were there, almost at the very beginning.
So thank you, Park Ave. South people. We're going to find a new Friday spot. Even though we know you love us and we love you, we're ready for a change. We'll make sure we find something in Midtown East, so when you really get nostalgic about the good times we had, you can always come visit.

(500) Days of SummerSo the trailer says that "it's a story of boy meets girl"
BUT
then they also say
"this is not a love story"
So...what the hell is it then?? I mean, COME ON! There's the boy. There's the girl. They both look cute. You do the math. There has to be some love somewhere in the movie, no?
You know what? We want to place a bet. A BIG GIANT BET*. If this movie proves to have at least a few ounces of love (or several gallons) of love in the story, we're going to GIVE AWAY 500 of our Belgian DAME BLANCHES for FREE. Or to say it in plain English. We're giving away 500 FREE Belgian Sundaes. This Sunday. Wafel cone with vanilla ice cream, Belgian chocolate fudge and whipped cream. For FREE. Because we want to know the real truth about (500) Days of Summer.
When?? Sunday. June 21st (which is also the "official start of summer", so wake up early because you don't want to miss that!)
Where?? Marcus Garvey Memorial Park - Madison and 120th/124th (take the 2,3 or 4,5,6 to 125th Street)
*If you have a gambling problem, please call 1-888-switch2wafels. Offer expires before you know it. Terms and condititions are what they are - incomprehensible.

Allez Allez! Skyscraper Harlem Classic
Have you ever wondered why we wear these silly Eddy Merckx hats in the waffletruck? It's because Eddy was the greatest. Cyclist - that is. But that's not the point. The point is: we LOVE cycling - it's probably Belgium's sport number #2 (after the soccer, and before the billiards, which is also very tiring). So - we're going to get involved. This Sunday. Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem. From 11:30am - 3pm. Here's what the Annual Skyscraper Harlem Classic is all about:
It's a 4 corner bicycle classic that zooms around Marcus Garvey Park, right in the heart of Harlem. The race has a strong community involvement, and it's the most famous and spectator friendly race in New York City. The Harlem Community comes out to see the race, which adds to the personality of the race. The race also features "citizens" races and kids races, allowing people from the local community to race on a more informal level. The nature of crits makes them more spectator-friendly than any other kind of bike race. the course is short (.8 mi), so the racers zoom by again and again. since the races are short, the pace is intense!. And of course, the NASCAR-like appeal of crashes makes it all-the-more exciting!
The Races Start at 12:30 and go on into the early evening. Marcus Garvey Park is located on 122nd Street Between Malcom X Boulevard and Park avenue. Come out and enjoy an afternoon at the Races!

We love Miss Brooklyn. And the love is mutual !!!
Ever wonder how Keelie Sheridan, a.k.a. Miss Brooklyn, managed to get such a gorgeous figure?? That's right. She's a huge Wafels & Dinges fan and therefor she will come do a "Meet & Eat" tomorrow in Park Slope from 10am till 2pm. So California has a Miss that just got fired, but WE have a Miss who loves 'm light and crispy or soft 'n chewy. With lots and lots of dinges on it too. In fact, Keelie will be personally handing out the whipped cream tomorrow - how's that?Come on down and say hi to Keelie. Bring yer cameras for a historic photo-op.
PS - we are donating part of our proceeds tomorrow to support Keelie's run for Miss New York (and hopefully Miss America and Miss World too).
