NYC Marathon Booster

This just in:

(do we sound like Fox News or what??)

> Phone rings
> Hello, this is the waffle-guy - what can I do for you?

Excited lady on the other line:

>> Listen, last year I saw your truck on the UWS the day before the Marathon, I had a wafel and I ran an awesome time. Where will you be this year?
> Well normally we would be in Park Slope on Saturdays.
>> What?? No. No!! You HAVE to be on the UWS side the weekend of the Marathon. I HAVE to have my wafel before the Marathon. Have to have to have to.
> Well, uh, sure lady. We will consider that.

So, dear Marathon Lady. Consider it done. That day, just check the hotline for the exact location: 866-429-7329

Secrets of the US Open Tennis

Ever wondered how our Belgian ladies so often make it to #1 in the global tennis rankings? Look no further.
You didn't really believe it to be a coincidence how the gridded shape of Liege waffles resembles that of a tennis racket?

Thanks Kim, for visiting us at the "Taste of Tennis" event last week!

Master Mind

If you think the waffle-guy is to credit for the Wafels & Dinges truck driving around NYC, think again. See...this lady here on the picture...is the waffle-guy's lovely wife. And you know the saying? "Behind every great man stands..." etc? Well...not claiming to be a great man here, but the bottom line is: she was the master-mind pulling me out of a cushy IBM job and into our first 1968's waffle truck - back in October of 2007.
Next time you indulge, just think quietly "thank you, waffle-lady, we love you".

Waffle Award

We haven't done this one in a while...but it's always fun. Who would you nominate for the weekly waffle award?
Funny someone wrote "Scott Smith" on the board. He was my former boss when I worked at IBM.

Scott, seriously...it wasn't me!!

Recipe for fair and balanced waffles

While we may not be best friends with the O'Reilly's and the Hannity's of the world, Geraldo at Fox News here is actually a nice fellow - especially because he seems to dig our waffles. Woohoo! Our first celebrity endorsement (that is, after Albert II, King of the Belgians - of course)!

Brussels only

I don't remember a name or a date. But I do know it was on 86th Street where this young wafeleur came to the truck and made it very clear his preferred wafel was the Brussels wafel. Good for you, kid! How many of us can say we know exactly what we want??

Wafels. Or Pancakes?

We love it when dogs bring their owners to the wafel truck (or is it the owners who think they're bringing their dog?). A recent Sunday, we got these two guys coming by: "Pancakes", the light brown fluffy guy, and "Waffles", the little black guy. We're not making this up.

TODAY SHOW hosts the Waffle Guy

They don't make 'm anymore like that...
