Messy Wafel Gets Cleaned Up
Wafel Friends - we have to apologize!
Our recently launched website had a glitch in how it captured resumes from job applicants. As a consequence, some applicants' names and resumes showed up in Google's search results when you Googled the applicant's name.
The GOOD NEWS now: The glitch is 99% solved. Resumes are NO longer showing on Google. Zero. There may be a few people who still get a link showing on Google search results (that's the Google cache, which will be cleared in a few days), but definitely no resumes.
No need to say we profusely apologize for this. The baby's face says it all. We've also sent a few rocket-propelled waffle-grenades to our developer's HeadQuarters in California. Thanks for letting us know and your understanding.

Quarterly Statement to the King
Your Majesty,
We have received disturbing news about national strikes crippling the Belgian economy. We hope you and your family are safe and sound. In case matters do get to a head, we would be honored to offer you asylum here at our commissary in New York City where wafels still are served without interruptions.
Last time, we spoke about our new infrastructure and our Spekuloos ice cream. In the past couple of months, we again have come up with several new ideas and improvements to keep our company growing and our customers satisfied.
One major improvement is the production of our Hot Belgian Cocoa. We have acquired the rights to recreate De Choclotron (used in Belgian space missions) here in New York. This has greatly increased our efficiency in making hot chocolates and dramatically decreased the waiting time for the wafeloons and wafelonnes.

DE THROWDOWN TOUCHDOWN
Wafeloons & Wafelonnes!
(American) Football has always caused much confusion to many Belgians. It's very different than the football they are used to. Think of it as the confusion many Americans feel when they look at our Wafels and think of the typical "Belgian Waffle". The department of Wafels has come up with something that will connect both worlds:
DE THROWDOWN TOUCHDOWN
Our Superbowl special: Available at all our opérations this SATURDAY & SUNDAY ONLY!
- 12 Liège Wafels
- 1 jar of Spekuloos
- 1 can of whipped cream
Be the life of the party for only $48! Goal/Touchdown!

Goesting in love..
Dear Greenwich & Murray customers,
The unthinkable has happened. Our beloved Goesting cart, which usually rebelliously roams the city with different spots each day, has fallen in love...big time. He claims it's the love of his life:
23rd St. & 5th Ave near Eataly.
They really hit it off. It must be a European thing, Belgium & Italy aren't too far apart. Check out the picture below... sparks are flying all over the place. While we look for a solution, we hope you can understand and let these lovebirds enjoy what they have.

DE CHOCLOTRON
Hi Wafeloons & Wafelonnes,
Breaking news in the Belgian Space Program this week. Marking the capstone flight of the WafelCraft Series, Belgium's last astronaut-manned spacecraft made its final journey back through the atmosphere on Monday. When asked what kept the brave spacemen motivated on the long journey to and from the International Space Station, the Belgians aboard the WafelCraft insisted that it was the mysterious machine specifically engineered for the crew and installed just days before takeoff. Custom made in Belgium's industrial city of Charleroi, DE CHOCLOTRON provided an endless amount of Belgium's finest hot cocoa to the cold and lonely spacemen aboard the flight. After much discussion, pleading, and paperwork, Wafels & Dinges was able to obtain the rights to the protocol and has now recreated Earth's finest hot cocoa machine to ever be used by man. And they're in every cart and truck. New York really does have everything. So taste a sip of history - you don't even have to wear a silly spacesuit. It's guaranteed to be out of this world.

Wafelette of the week!
Hi there Wafeleurs & Wafelettes!
"If Belgian men were as sweet as the wafels at Wafels & Dinges, I would surely marry one". This statement by Deepa Baalakrishnan led the head of the wafeleur/wafelette selection committee to promptly crown her as the new Wafelette of the week. It turned out to be a contentious decision. Behind the scenes discussions between all heads of departments within the Ministry of Culinary affairs culminated at a special meeting at the nearest "frietkot" (a place where Belgians buy and devour their fries) in Brussels (!) to settle their differences. After the head of selection survived a vote of no-confidence (for being too persuadable) he was allowed to carry on and reward Deepa with a gift certificate for 2 FREE Wafels of Massive Deliciousness! Here's her bio:

Special of the Week!
Hi Wafeloons & Wafelonnes!
After a prolonged stay, Granny's Envy Wafel finally left. She was supposed to stay 2 weeks but late last week, she got a hernia and had to stay for another week. Yesterday, we finally put her back on a plane to Florida.
This week's special involves a special dinges our master culinary chef made in his own basement at home (where his real creative juices get going). He came up with the ingenious combination of brown sugar and walnuts and turning it into a tasty crumble. Check it out:
DE PEARABLE WAFEL
According to our master chef dinges - this is his best creation to date. So you don't want to miss out on it! Available at all our carts and the truck!
Enjoy!

Wafelette of the week!
Hi there Wafeleurs & Wafelettes!
We know we have been quiet on our weekly wafeleur/wafelette announcement. Reason for this was a massive overhaul of the Wafeleur/Wafelette-selection department. Also, the process involves intensive international background checks on the selected person's waffle consumption, membership of certain wafel-criminal organizations (like the Waffle House's regulars club) and so forth, we have to make sure everything is checked and approved by Belgian authorities before we can announce it to the general public. This week's Wafelette got the all-clear! Congratulations to Jessie! Here is what she had to say about herself:

My name is Jessie Saltzman I recently moved to NY from Texas. In Texas I was focusing and mainly putting all my effort toward Musical Theatre. I still have a passion for it, and currently take private lesson; voice and acting. I don't have that big of a family, some here in New York and only a few back in Texas. All my friends are spread around the United States for college and I miss them dearly. But a few of them attend school in the city so I get to see them frequently. I currently work at 2 theatres and also a tiny retail job. I like the outdoors, cooking, and photography. Dislikes would be snakes, spiders...wow I sound like a little kid; and more. My favorite color would have to be a tie in between electric blue and neon orange. Ahh favorite wafel topping?!! One topping that you can find on most of my wafels would be strawberries so I guess thats pretty up there, but last week I tried spekuloos (I don't know if I spelled that correctly) spread... and it was AMAZING! I love it! Good wafel experience would have to be my first Wafel and Dinges experience, now anytime I'm in the park or happen to see the location of the truck and I'm near by, I have to get some and I got my friends hooked too... and funny thing is orignally he didn't like wafels to begin with!
There you have it! Congratulations again to Jessie! Do know that when you approach her in an aggressive manner, she has two secret wafel agents by her side armed with wafel forks and iron scrapers, protecting her dinges at all times.
See you all next week!

Special of the Week!
Hi there Wafeloons!
The past two weeks have been rough on our culinary department. We have seen massive rainfall causing some flooding in our company headquarters. Preliminary reports indicate no wafel casualties. However, a few of Liege wafels were taken to the wafel hospital after showing signs of "wafel al-dente". The pearl sugar of the Liege wafel allegedly interacted with water, causing it to harden, so rendering it unfit for sale. In total, 4 Liege wafels required emergency consumption by trained Wafels & Dinges staff (according to the Belgian "Leave No Wafel Behind"-act, prohibiting the disposal of any wafels). Despite the mishap, our sources say they were still super delicious.
Despite this wafel drama, our chefs did manage to concoct a weekly special that will make your ears whistle! They made another trip out to Prospect Hill Orchards in Milton, NY to handpick an all-American ingredient to go with an all-Belgian wafel. After carefully experimenting with a variety of dinges, we are proud to present to you yet another mouthwatering masterpiece. Even your family's apple-pie expert (every family has one) will savor this orchard fresh treat. Its taste will bring you (and your grandmama...or Aunt BettySue...or Uncle Ronnie?) one step closer to wafel Valhalla! Behold:
GRANNY'S ENVY WAFEL
Your favorite Liege or Brussels wafel:
Don't forget to tell grandma her apple pie's got some competition!

Congratulations Stacey Molski and Michael Parent for becoming Miss and Mr Wafel 2011! Your names are now forever enshrined in the wafel history books. Your picture is hung up in our Wafel art gallery next to the Belgian royal family.
The high volume of drawings and poems received completely inundated the ministry's department of Wafels. Two interns were required to assist Thomas, Belgium's special envoy for wafels abroad, to get the selection job done. After carefully reviewing all the dinges, we are now proud to present to you the winners of the drawing/poem contest! See below for the most wafel worthy submissions and other pictures of the event!
