Sunday morning. Upper West Side. Waffle truck drives down West 64th Street. Stops at the red light. Lady on bicycle pulls up next to drivers door, sweating and exhausted. She says: "Where are you going to set up today? I've been following you for 10 blocks and I just really want a waffle."
Like Bush so wisely mused about his job: "It's a lotta hard work". I would say the same thing about mine - a lot of hours, no time off and sometimes you wonder whether it's just all worth it. This bicycle-lady moment was one of those moments that makes it all worth it - and much more.
