The Park Slope Report

Belgium is able to breathe again. The years of nightmares about greasy waffles in Brooklyn diners are finally over. Images of waffles made out of pancake batter are no longer on local reality TV shows.
On Sunday morning, after several long months of bed rest, the ailing King Albert II finally reappeared on the royal palace balcony in Brussels , gently waving at his waffle loving, beer drinking and sprout eating servants. Early Sunday morning he had received an express telegram from his Special Envoy for Wafels in New York, T. DeGeest. The report went like this:

Very honorable, dearly beloved King Albert II,

Wassup? New York! More good news. Saturday - First Wafels & Dinges expedition to Brooklyn. Park Slope. Great success. Finally met Special Envoy Cynthia W. - right choice! Kick-ass job! Brooklynites get it. They want more. Ask for special permission to return to Bklyn in next month. Please respond asap.
