Upper West Side shake-up

We love the Upper West Side on the weekends. It's got just the right mix of strolling Starbucks sipping families, hungry Central Park runners and late afternoon movie-goers. We do love the Upper West side on the weekends, because it doesn't turn into a war-zone for street vendors, tourists and shoppers. It keeps some kind of serene, dignified aura about it.
And now we just discovered that parking near Fairways on 74th street may actually be possible. At least we parked there last weekend on both Saturday and Sunday. The Fairway management was pretty cool about it, and that, we think, deserves a special mentioning on this blog.

So...good on you, Fairway people! You've actually allowed us to discover a great new spot and we hope to return there soon. Keep it up for a few more weeks and the Belgian Ministry of Culinary Affairs may consider a Special Medal of Dinges for you.
