Royal visit to Wafels & Dinges!

Dear wafeleurs and wafelettes,

A great shake up last night at our Vedette cart near the entrance of Central Park. A visit from the Belgian royal crown Prince Filip and his wife Princess Mathilde took us by surprise! According to the Belgian media, it was just a casual stroll-by. This however could not be farther from the truth. Here at Wafels & Dinges, we know the real story behind it all...

The Ministry of Culinary Affairs has confirmed that this was a surprise sting operation to check on the quality of our Liege waffles. It was so covert, not even the special envoy of culinary affairs was in the know. He was sent off on some decoy mission in a remote area of Latin America with no Internet or phone access just to make sure he could not prepare or direct any of the running operations back in NYC.

The future king and queen of Belgium tried the waffle plain (duh, they are Belgian and that's how they roll) BUT without powdered sugar even! No dinges that could masquerade the taste of the waffle. It was clear.. They were on a mission.
Fortunately (although not surprisingly), the royal visitors were highly impressed with the quality of our waffles. At some point the Princess couldn't even contain her excitement and shouted "heel lekker!" ("heavenly awesome") for everyone to hear. A sigh of relief could be heard from Latin America, where the special envoy miraculously saw his phone and Internet access restored after the "inspection"! It just comes to show how powerful the ministry of culinary affairs has become even outside its borders. They will do anything to keep the image of the waffles in prime shape.

So now that our waffles are royally approved, you have no more excuse to not come and enjoy their "heavenly awesomeness"!
