DeGeest spotted in homeland

We have received reports from a reliable source that Mr. T. DeGeest (Belgium's Special Wafel Envoy to New York), has been spotted near the Belgian city of Liege. He would have been gathering intelligence on the best Belgian wafel makers in the country. Mr. DeGeest confirmed the reports and said "If we're serious about bringing the real Belgian wafel back to New York, we better find out first who in our country makes the best wafel. We have been talking to the top wafel-chefs, and it's really a toss-up who will get the contract. Also, we have found that the best wafels definitely come from the smaller, artisanal shops who still use the old-style Belgian recipes, techniques and natural ingredients. Our choice will definitely go in that direction!

Dear Mr. The Spirit, Special Envoy of the Belgian Ministry of Culinary Affairs, Department of Wafels.
I am a compatriot, living in Beijing. Asking the Belgian Embassy here to get in contact with the department of Wafels ... they laughed at me!
It is clear that Chinese do not take this culinary matter serious!
On the street when I ask where the hell I can buy 'Gaufres de Liege', they look at me with astonishment. "euhmm ... is that something you eat with chopsticks?", replied Mr. Wang near TianAnMen-square.
It is clear something has to be done! In China they make everything... why no waffles?
